The Twilight Zone: Eye of the beholder

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this Twilight Zone episode, we decided to recreate it for cartoonland by drawing our own scenes and staying fairly close to the original dialog.  Probably the most important line to keep intact was the doctor telling the patient, “There’s a special place where people like you have been congregated.” This was Rod Serling’s brilliant writing at its best, given the historical connection with Nazi concentration camps.

The theme of this episode—how does society deal with unwanted people—and the striking ending in which the patient is revealed as beautiful while the others are hideous, made “Eye of the Beholder” one of the more memorable episodes of the Twilight Zone series.
